Active Directory, Windows 2003 Server and Terminal Server design, migration and support.

CLIENT BACKGROUND: As their logistics solutions and warehousing system business was steadily growing, the demand for advanced and higher performance capabilities across their network, were becoming a necessity.  While improving their environmentally protected one million sq. ft. of storage facilities to remain competitive, they also needed to meet the needs of their local and remote users to meet the demands of their growing client base.

PROBLEM: The Local and Remote users were requesting an improvement for File and Print capabilities, as well as, improved remote access to the network.  At the time, they were running NT 4.0 servers and an NT 4.0 Terminal Server in a Windows NT Domain.  The solution was a more robust platform for network authentication and directory.

SOLUTION: Panurgy designed and implemented an Active Directory 2003 solution consisting of a single domain in a single forest.  A well thought out migration plan was implemented for the migration of the existing NT domain user and computer accounts, profiles and other resources to Active Directory 2003 for a quick and seamless cutover for the end-users. 

Panurgy also installed new Windows 2003 Server File/Print, Domain Controller, and Terminal Server application servers.  Clients use MS Windows 2000 Pro and XP pro locally and remotely via Windows 2003 Terminal Server, to access shared network resources. 

To provide the client with a complete managed solution, Panurgy currently provides 24x7 ongoing monitoring and complete administration of Active Directory and all Windows servers.  The client now has the peace-of-mind their network infrastructure is performing at peak performance, reliable and scalable.
